A 1903 dam reservoir in the Jamwa Ramgarh sanctuary hills, once Jaipur's drinking-water source and now often low.
Ramgarh Lake is a reservoir built in 1903 about 30 km north-east of Jaipur and hosted the 1982 Asian Games sailing events. It is not a beach, and the water level has dropped severely in recent decades, so the lake is often partially dry. When full after strong monsoons, the shoreline attracts waterfowl and picnickers. Swimming is not allowed and the area is under forest-department rules as part of the Jamwa Ramgarh Wildlife Sanctuary. A car is needed to reach it.
