Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and the Pink City of India's Golden Triangle, a planned 1727 walled city of terracotta bazaars, the City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar, ringed by the Aravalli hill forts of Amber, Jaigarh and Nahargarh and known for block-print textiles, gemstones, blue pottery and Rajasthani food.
Jaipur's nightlife is modest. Rajasthan allows licensed bars, but most venues close around 11PM to 11:30PM, hotel bars sometimes run to midnight, and the city has few full nightclubs. The strongest after-dark experiences are palace cocktails at Rambagh Palace and Narain Niwas, rooftop dinners with fort views, evening shows at Chokhi Dhani, and street food at Masala Chowk and MI Road. Clubs cluster in C-Scheme and Lal Kothi, and bars with live music are in C-Scheme and Vaishali Nagar.
The scene divides into four clusters. Palace and hotel bars (Rambagh Palace, Narain Niwas Palace) offer the most atmospheric drinks at the highest prices. C-Scheme and MI Road have casual bars, cafes and late restaurants. Vaishali Nagar and Malviya Nagar host lounges and clubs. The Pink City is quiet after dark except for street-food stalls and, in the evenings, illuminated Hawa Mahal and Albert Hall. Government dry days, including election days and certain festivals, close bars; confirm before travelling.
