An evening-only street market around Law Garden known for Kutchi embroidery, mirror-work textiles, oxidised jewellery and a food-stall lane.
Law Garden Night Market sets up every evening on the pavements and small lanes around Law Garden in Ellisbridge, on the west bank of the Sabarmati. Stalls sell Kutchi and Saurashtra embroidery, mirror-work chaniya choli sets, torans, bedspreads, oxidised and brass jewellery and leather bags, and traders from Kutch and Rajasthan run many of the stalls. Prices are negotiable and vendors quote high to visitors, so starting at about half the first quote is standard. The Law Garden food lane adds sandwiches, dosa, pav bhaji and chaats, which makes the market a natural dinner stop. It is busiest in the weeks before Navratri when garba outfits sell out. Quality varies; check stitching and embroidery on the back, and note that much mirror work is machine-made.
