The pavement market under the historic Teen Darwaza gate, dense with clothes, bangles, footwear and accessories at street-market prices.
Teen Darwaza (Three Gates) is a 15th-century triple archway at the eastern entrance to the Bhadra Fort precinct, and the street and pavements around it and towards Lal Darwaza form one of the city's biggest open-air bazaars. Hawkers and small shops sell budget clothing, bangles, sandals, bags, crockery and fabric. Sundays and festival evenings are especially crowded; the gate itself can be photographed in the morning before the stalls fill the pavement. Lal Darwaza, a short walk to the east, adds saree shops, footwear and a fruit and vegetable market. Bargaining is essential and the first quote can be double what locals pay. The area is beside Bhadra Fort, Sidi Saiyyed Mosque and the Jama Masjid, so it is convenient to combine with monuments.
