Space Club

Space Club is a DJ-led nightclub on Nongke Road in Jinshui District, Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province in central China, and it is part of the bar-and-club strip that is the city's best-known evening district. Its position on the strip means it draws customers who have already spent the early evening in nearby bars. The crowd is mostly local people in their twenties and early thirties, including students, young professionals and celebration groups, with a smaller number of foreign residents. Dress is smart-casual, and door staff at Chinese clubs commonly refuse entry to anyone wearing shorts, flip-flops or sportswear. The atmosphere builds from about 22:00, and the dancefloor is busiest from around midnight on Friday and Saturday, when tables fill and the lighting and sound system run at full intensity. Music is DJ-driven, generally commercial electronic, hip-hop and pop remixes. The drinks programme is built around group consumption, with beer, spirits sold by the bottle with mixers, cocktails and fruit platters, while individuals can order from the bar. Entry costs about ¥50-100 (~$7.50-15), which may include a drink or credit, though this should be verified at the door. Hours are nightly late but not confirmed, and weeknights can be quiet, so visitors should check before going. Tables and bottle packages are the usual way for groups to guarantee seating and can be reserved through WeChat or by phone, with pricing that depends on the night and location in the room. Solo visitors and pairs can normally enter and stand or sit at the bar. Payment is by Alipay or WeChat Pay. Nongke Road is a short walk from Dongfeng Road metro station on Line 2, but late-night travel home is easiest by ride-hailing app. Passports are advisable, since some venues check identification.
