Yong River Binjiang Park Waterfront

Binjiang Park runs along the north bank of the Yong River in Xingning District, central Nanning, forming a continuous riverside promenade rather than a sand beach. The waterfront is faced with stepped stone terraces and ramps that descend toward the river, with no natural sand or pebble strand; the water itself is the wide, slow-moving Yong River, typically brown-green like most Guangxi rivers rather than clear, and it is not used for swimming. The promenade extends for several kilometres along both banks, sheltered from wind by the surrounding city blocks, giving it a calm, open riverside character rather than an exposed coastal one. By day it draws a mixed, unhurried crowd - retirees doing tai chi, families walking after school, and cyclists on the riverside path; by evening it becomes one of central Nanning's most popular strolling spots as the lights of Chaoyang Square and the river bridges come on. Amenities include shaded benches, fitness stations, shared-bike docks and public restrooms in the adjoining parks; there are no lifeguards and no designated swimming or bathing areas, since the park's purpose is walking, cycling and river-viewing rather than bathing. Tourist wharves at Minsheng, Qingshan and Pumiao offer short Yong River boat trips and are a short walk along the same promenade. Access is easy from the city centre: Nanning Metro Lines 1 and 2 both reach the riverside district, numerous bus routes run along Jiangbin Road, and entry to the park is free at all times. Because the promenade sits within walking distance of Chaoyang Square, it is easy to combine with an evening out in central Nanning rather than requiring a dedicated trip, and ramps run alongside the stepped terraces at several points for visitors who prefer not to use stairs.
