Nanhu Park Lake Shore

Nanhu Park Lake Shore, in Nanning's Qingxiu District, wraps roughly 8 km of paved footpath around South Lake (Nanhu), a freshwater lake rather than a sea or ocean beach. The shoreline itself is a mix of grass banks, low stone embankments and a handful of small sandy coves where pedal boats launch; the water is calm and generally clear but not swim-grade, and there is no open exposure to wind or surf since the lake sits within the city, sheltered by surrounding parkland and nine arched bridges. The path forms a wide, open loop rather than a tight cove. It suits a relaxed, family-oriented vibe by day - joggers, kite-flyers, boat riders and children on the playground and sports courts - and becomes a social evening spot when the music fountain and water-screen light shows draw crowds after dark. Amenities along the shore include public restrooms, lakeside food kiosks, benches under subtropical planting of palms, Chinese fan palm and cajeput trees, and rental stands for pedal and electric boats. There is no lifeguard service since swimming is not the primary activity; the shoreline is for walking, boating and picnicking rather than bathing. Access is straightforward: Nanning Metro Line 3 stops directly at Nanhu Station a short walk from the water, and the park is free to enter with no set closing time, making it usable for a sunrise walk or a late evening stroll after the fountain show. Parking is available near the main gates for visitors arriving by car or taxi, and the flat paved paths mean strollers and wheelchairs can cover most of the loop without difficulty. Because Nanhu sits about 4 km southeast of central Nanning, it is easy to combine with a half-day in the Qingxiu District rather than requiring a dedicated trip.
