Granada travel guide — where to stay, what to do, and where to eat in Granada, Andalusia, Spain.
Granada's cooking is Andalusian with Moorish roots and mountain influences from the Sierra Nevada and Alpujarras. Menus lean on cured Trevélez ham, tortilla Sacromonte (with brains and offal), habas con jamón, remojón granadino (orange and salt cod salad), olive oil, lamb and Costa Tropical seafood from Motril. Desserts include piononos from nearby Santa Fe. Granada is also one of the last Spanish cities where tapas come free with every drink.

Vegetarian options exist but many tapas contain ham or fish; ask for "sin carne" or "sin jamón". Gluten-free: ask for "sin gluten". Vegan options include Páprika (fully vegan) and Wild Food in the centre. Calle Calderería Nueva and the Albaicín have Moroccan-style restaurants with vegetarian tajines. Free tapas cannot normally be substituted, so state dietary needs when ordering.
