The Huerta de San Vicente is the summer house of the García Lorca family in Granada, Andalusia, where the poet Federico García Lorca spent his summers between 1926 and 1936. It stands in a garden, now a public park, on the south side of the city. Lorca wrote Blood Wedding and The House of Bernarda Alba here. Visits are by guided tour only, and rooms keep the original furniture, his piano and many personal items. The poet was arrested in Granada in August 1936 and killed days later. The tour passes through the dining room, bedrooms and study, and ends in the garden, which has a mulberry and a small pond. Visits last 45 to 60 minutes. Tickets are limited and are best reserved online.
