Stand-Up Paddleboarding at Portovenere

Stand-up paddleboarding at Portovenere is a paddle excursion across the sheltered Gulf of Poets at the southern tip of the Cinque Terre coast, in the La Spezia province of Liguria, north-west Italy. From the colourful Portovenere waterfront, paddlers glide beneath the Gothic Church of San Pietro on its rocky point, around the wooded island of Palmaria, and to the mouth of the Byron Grotto, the sea cave named after the Romantic poet who is said to have swum here.
