Hostel Sol

Hostel Sol is a hostel of about 40 rooms at Obala pape Ivana Pavla II. 13 in the Gruž district of Dubrovnik, about three minutes' walk from the bus station and the ferry port, in Croatia's Dubrovnik-Neretva region. The position makes it a practical stopover for travellers arriving by coach from Zagreb, Split or Montenegro, and for those catching ferries to the Elafiti islands, Mljet and Korčula. The Old Town is reachable by city bus in about fifteen to twenty minutes. Accommodation consists of Dorm Beds at about €25 to €55 and Private Rooms at about €60 to €120 per night. Amenities include wifi, air conditioning and luggage storage, which is useful for travellers with early ferries or late departures. The hostel was reported closed from 1 November to 31 March, so winter visitors should confirm opening dates before planning. The character is functional and port-side, with the harbour atmosphere of fishing boats and ferries and cafes along the waterfront. It is not within walking distance of the Old Town, and noise from the port and traffic may be noticeable.
