Dubrovnik is a walled city on Croatia's southern Adriatic coast, home to about 41,500 people. Its car-free Old Town (Stari Grad), a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, is ringed by nearly 2 km of medieval walls and sits beside clear swimming coves, Lokrum island and the Elafiti islands.
Dubrovnik nightlife is compact and seasonal. Evenings start with sunset drinks on the cliffs below the walls or wine in the Old Town, move to pubs and jazz around Stradun and the cathedral, and end at the fortress club Revelin or at Banje Beach from late May to September. Outside summer, most clubs close and the scene shrinks to wine bars, pubs and the Gruz brewery.
Cliff bars (Buza), wine bars (D'Vino), live jazz (Troubadour) and one international-scale club (Culture Club Revelin) make up the main scene. Lazareti hosts underground events. Hotels such as Hotel More run cocktail bars outside the walls.
