A hillside plum garden founded in 1912 by the Rong family, famed for its mid-February to March plum blossom.
Meiyuan is a hill park founded in 1912 by the Rong family, the industrialists who shaped modern Wuxi, and it is known for thousands of plum trees. In the blossom season from mid-February to mid-March the hillside is covered in white and pink.
The garden has a viewing pavilion at the top of the hill, views toward Taihu and a number of Republican-era buildings. It is a seasonal highlight and quieter outside the plum festival.
