Nanhu Park (South Lake Park)

Nanhu Park, also known as South Lake Park, wraps a wide urban lake in Qingxiu District and is one of Nanning's most-used green spaces, connecting the Nanhu residential and business district with continuous lakeside promenades. The park is organised into several linked sections, including a bonsai garden, a rose garden and open lawns used for morning exercise, with paddle boats available for hire on the lake itself. A music fountain at the park's southern end runs choreographed evening shows timed to lights and sound, drawing local families after dinner. A typical visit runs ninety minutes to two and a half hours, whether walking a loop of the lake, renting a boat, or settling in for the evening fountain display. The promenade on the lake's eastern shore, opposite the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center skyline, gives the best reflected-water photo angle at dusk. Mornings bring tai chi groups, birdwatchers and joggers along the shaded paths, while weekday daytime hours are the quietest overall; the park is busiest on summer evenings and weekends when the fountain and lakeside lighting draw the largest crowds.
