Hồ Tây Water Park (city swim option)

Hồ Tây Water Park is an urban water park at 614 Lạc Long Quân, in Tây Hồ District on the northern shore of West Lake in Hà Nội, Vietnam. Hà Nội has no beach, and swimming in West Lake or Hoàn Kiếm Lake is not permitted, so the park serves as the main in-city place to swim and cool off during the hot, humid summer. It is about 8 km from the Old Quarter, a 20-30 minute Grab ride for roughly 80,000-120,000 VND. There is no sand or open shoreline to describe: the experience is built around pools, slides and family play areas, and the water is chlorinated pool water, not lake or sea water. That means the water is clear and consistent, with none of the tidal, silt or jellyfish concerns of a real beach. The park is enclosed and managed, so the setting is controlled rather than exposed to wind or surf. The vibe is family-oriented and casual, with local families, school groups and children making up much of the crowd, and peak days are hot summer weekends. Amenities include pools and slides, lockers and showers, food kiosks and shaded family areas. Staff supervise the pools during opening hours, but opening times and ticket prices change by season, so visitors should check the current schedule before travelling. Access is easy from central Hà Nội. Ride-hailing cars and taxis run along Lạc Long Quân, and the park has vehicle and motorbike parking. Buses serve the West Lake area, though a Grab car is the simplest option for a group. Because the park is close to West Lake's cafés, pagodas such as Trấn Quốc and Tây Hồ temple, and the Xuân Diệu and Quảng An restaurant streets, many visitors pair a swim with a lakeside stroll or an evening meal. For a real sea beach, the nearest options are Đồ Sơn in Hải Phòng and the Hạ Long coast, both a half day's journey away.
