Banyan Tree Phuket is an all-pool-villa resort set within the Laguna Phuket integrated complex on Bang Tao Beach, on the island's north-west coast. It is approximately 25 kilometres south of Phuket International Airport and roughly 20 kilometres north of Patong Beach. The resort opened in 1994 and helped establish the private-pool-villa model that became the dominant format for Southeast Asian luxury resorts in the decades that followed.
Every villa comes with its own swimming pool and high-walled garden providing total visual privacy from neighbouring accommodation. Sizes range from the 170-square-metre Banyan Pool Villa to Double Pool Villas and Grand Banyan Pool Villas of up to 700 square metres.
