Rivertrees Country Inn

Rivertrees Country Inn occupies a working farm on the banks of the Usa River, about 18 km from central Arusha and close to Kilimanjaro International Airport, surrounded by coffee and avocado plantations at the foot of Mount Meru. The property began life as a settler-era farmhouse and retains that country-house character: stone-and-thatch cottages with fireplaces, four-poster beds, mosquito netting, and antique furnishings are scattered through gardens along the riverbank, several with terraces overlooking the water. Rooms range from simple garden cottages to larger river-view suites. The restaurant follows a farm-to-table approach, drawing vegetables, herbs, and fruit from the inn's own kitchen garden, with meals often served on the riverside veranda. There is an outdoor swimming pool set in the gardens, and light spa treatments can be arranged, though the emphasis is more on the natural surroundings than a full wellness centre — guided farm tours, birdwatching walks, and river-side strolls are the main activities. Service is warm and family-oriented, well suited to couples and families breaking a journey between Arusha and Kilimanjaro, or looking for a relaxed rural base before or after a safari; the inn's team also arranges transfers and day trips to Arusha National Park and Materuni waterfalls.
