A sandy, sheltered bay with a pine-clad hillside, calm water and several beach restaurants.
Cala Vedella is a small sandy bay on the south-west coast, enclosed by pine woods and calm, shallow water. A handful of beach restaurants and a small resort area sit behind the sand, and watersports hire and boat trips operate in season. It is one of the island's family beaches, with a gentle slope and clear water, and sunsets over the bay are good. The beach is smaller than Playa d'en Bossa and fills by midday in July and August. It makes a reasonable base for a day of swimming, with snorkelling on the rocky sides and a short walk to nearby coves.
