Mirador de San Miguel Alto is a hilltop viewpoint with a small hermitage above the Albaicín quarter in Granada, Andalusia, Spain, and one of the highest city lookouts. The walk starts at Plaza San Miguel Bajo in the upper Albaicín and climbs about 1.5 km up steep paved lanes and finally a dirt track to the hermitage esplanade, taking about 40 minutes uphill. The view covers the whole Alhambra, the Generalife, the Sacromonte slopes and, on clear days, the Sierra Nevada peaks behind. The climb is short but steep, so the route is graded easy with caution. No ticket is needed. The start is easiest reached by Albaicín minibus from Plaza Nueva or on foot through the lanes. The hilltop has little shade and is windy, so a hat and a light jacket help. Sunset is the popular time, but the hill is quiet before 10:00. The lanes are fine by day; after dark a taxi down is advisable. Turn-around is possible at any junction, and the route combines well with the Mirador de San Nicolás, which is lower on the same hill.
