Polhograjska Grmada, at 898 m, is the highest summit of the Polhov Gradec Hills west of Ljubljana, reached from the village of Polhov Gradec, where a 16th-century mansion stands beside the road. The marked path from the village climbs about 500 m through beech woods and meadows in roughly one and a half to two hours, with a few steeper sections and loose stones. A small church and an inn stand near the summit, with views of the Polhov Gradec hills, the Ljubljana basin and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The summit is a favourite for locals on weekends, and the trail connects to a network of marked loops through the Polhov Gradec Dolomites that can extend the walk to four hours. Walkers should carry water and food, as services on the route are limited and the inn may be closed on weekdays. In summer, an early start avoids heat and afternoon thunderstorms, while snow and ice may linger on shaded sections from December to March. Ticks are active in spring and summer.
