ADC Wine & Food Bar

ADC Wine & Food Bar occupies the ground floor of the Albergaria do Calvário guesthouse in Évora's old town, inside a converted historic building with exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings. The crowd is a mix of hotel guests and Évora locals, generally couples and small groups in their thirties and up, drawn by the food-and-wine pairing rather than a party scene; dress is smart-casual and there is no formal dress code. The mood is intimate and conversational, lit low in the evenings, with the room's historic architecture doing most of the visual work rather than any club-style production. There is no resident DJ or live band; background music, when played, stays low enough for conversation. The drinks programme centres on an extensive by-the-glass list of Alentejo wines, spanning entry-level and boutique producers from the surrounding region, backed by a shorter selection of Portuguese beers and a few classic cocktails. Food runs to regional petiscos, small plates built around Alentejo charcuterie, cheeses and olive oil, designed to be shared over a bottle rather than eaten quickly. ADC opens daily from 6PM to midnight, with weekend evenings from Friday to Saturday busier and staying fuller later than quieter weeknight sittings. There is no cover charge. Reservations are recommended for dinner-hour tables, particularly on weekend evenings and during the Évora tourist season from spring through autumn, since the room is compact; walk-ins are welcome later in the evening once dinner service has thinned out. Bottle service in the club sense does not apply here — wine is ordered by the glass or bottle at the table, and there is no minimum spend.
