Comporta Café Beach Club sits directly on the sand at Praia da Comporta, one of the Alentejo coast's best-known beaches, with a shaded wooden terrace looking out over the dunes and Atlantic. The crowd runs from families and sunbathers by day to a laid-back mix of locals, second-home owners and visitors in their twenties through fifties by evening; dress is barefoot-beach casual through the afternoon, shifting to relaxed resort wear for sunset drinks, with no formal dress code at any point. The atmosphere stays easygoing rather than club-like, built around the setting sun over the ocean rather than a packed dancefloor. Music comes from a rotating sunset DJ set or, on some evenings, live acoustic guitar, kept at a conversational volume that supports the view rather than dominating it. The drinks programme leans into cocktails built for the beach — caipirinhas, spritzes and fruit-forward mixes — alongside chilled Portuguese white and rosé wine and local beer; there is no dedicated bottle-service menu. Comporta Café Beach Club operates daily from 10AM to 9PM, seasonally from June through September, with the sunset stretch from around 7PM to close the busiest period of the day as loungers give way to standing drinkers. There is no cover charge, though a minimum spend applies to reserving a sun lounger for the day. Reservations are useful for lounger space in July and August but are not required simply to get a drink at the bar or terrace tables.
