Sea View and Do Darya

Sea View and Do Darya form the continuation of Karachi's beachfront strip east of Clifton, running through Defence Housing Authority (DHA) from Phase 6 to Phase 8 along Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue in Sindh. The sand is similar to Clifton's, a soft grey-brown that firms up near the waterline, with the same sediment-laden, non-transparent water typical of Karachi's urban coastline; swimming is uncommon here. The beach is long, open, and fully exposed to sea breeze off the Arabian Sea, with no sheltering coves, though the DHA stretch feels somewhat less congested than Clifton proper. The vibe shifts along the strip: the Sea View end draws a similar family and evening-stroll crowd to Clifton, with camel and horse rides on the sand, while the Do Darya end at DHA Phase 8 is dominated by restaurants and cafes built out on stilts over the water, drawing a dining-out and date-night crowd rather than a swimming one. Amenities include a paved walking and jogging track along part of the strip, restaurant seating with sea views at Do Darya, and roadside parking, though there is no lifeguard-patrolled swimming zone and no dedicated restroom block outside the restaurants. Access is by car, taxi, or ride-hailing service along Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue; there is no direct public bus service to the Do Darya restaurant strip itself. Most visitors come for an evening walk or jog on the track, or for a meal overlooking the water at Do Darya, rather than for sunbathing or swimming.
