It was set up by the state government to promote traditional artisans and gives craftspeople from across India a space to display and sell handmade goods. The grounds hold rows of stalls and rural-style huts selling handloom textiles, pottery, wood and metal crafts, jewellery, leather goods and paintings, along with regional food outlets. Open-air amphitheatres and stages host folk music and dance performances, and the landscape includes ponds, rock formations, walking paths and a small children's area. Visitors typically spend around two hours wandering the stalls, watching craft demonstrations and stopping for snacks. The site is at its liveliest on weekends and during seasonal fairs, such as the crafts festivals that bring in artisans from many states, when extra stalls and performances appear and entry may cost more. Weekday visits are quieter but have fewer performances and stalls in operation. The grounds are open from 10:30AM to 8:30PM, and late afternoon into the evening is pleasant, especially after the heat of the day has eased. Standard entry costs about INR 60 for adults and about INR 30 for children. Prices for crafts are negotiable, and comparing stalls before buying is sensible. Paths are paved and mostly level, with shaded seating scattered around the park, so it suits a relaxed visit including for older visitors. The Hitec City metro station is about 1.5 km away, so visitors can walk or take a short auto ride. Combining the visit with the nearby Durgam Cheruvu lake makes for an easy half-day in the Madhapur area.
