KBR National Park, formally Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park, is a 142-acre forest reserve in the middle of Jubilee Hills, one of Hyderabad's wealthiest neighbourhoods in Telangana, India. Its main entrance is on Road No. 1, and the park is surrounded by traffic and residential streets. Despite that, it holds dry deciduous scrub forest, rocky outcrops and a range of wildlife, including peacocks, peafowl, mongooses, monitor lizards and many birds. A loop of about 3.5 km runs around the park's outer edge, and it is used mostly by walkers, joggers and birdwatchers rather than by sightseers. Visitors follow the paved outer track, with some earth paths leading inside the forest. The park is a notable birding spot, where residents and migrants can be seen, especially near dawn. A typical visit lasts one to one and a half hours. Sunrise is the best time, when the forest is cooler, quieter and more active with wildlife, and the light filters through the trees. Walking hours are restricted to about 5:00AM to 9:00AM and 4:00PM to 6:30PM, so visits outside those windows are not possible. Weekend mornings are busier with local fitness groups, while weekday mornings are calm. Entry is free. There are few facilities inside, so water and insect protection are useful to carry, and vehicles are not permitted along the walking track. Visitors should keep to the paths, avoid feeding animals and take out any litter. The outer loop is paved and manageable for those with limited mobility, though inner paths are uneven earth. The Jubilee Hills Check Post metro station on the Red Line is about 1.5 km away, and autos are easy to find nearby. The park works well as an early-morning outing before visiting the rest of the city.
