About Telangana

Telangana occupies the Deccan Plateau in south-central India and centers on Hyderabad, a city of about 10 million known for Charminar, Golconda Fort, biryani, and the Hitech City technology hub. Beyond the capital, the state offers the UNESCO-listed Kakatiya Ramappa Temple, the Thousand Pillar Temple and Warangal Fort, the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir, Medak's cathedral, and the Amrabad and Kawal tiger reserves. Telangana is landlocked; lake shores and reservoirs such as Hussain Sagar, Osman Sagar, Laknavaram, and Pakhal serve as its waterfronts. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) is the main gateway, and the Hyderabad Metro, trains, and TGSRTC buses connect the main sights.
