Ajmer's Sufi shrine and Pushkar's sacred lake and Brahma Temple, combined into one long day.
Ajmer holds the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, one of the most visited Sufi shrines in South Asia, and the Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra mosque. Pushkar, about 15 km away, has a sacred lake ringed by ghats and the Brahma Temple, which is one of the few in India. The Pushkar Camel Fair is held in November. Dress modestly, cover heads at the Dargah and remove shoes. Alcohol and non-vegetarian food are restricted in Pushkar. The trip is long but doable in a day.
