Kinsterna Hotel occupies a restored 10th-century Byzantine estate set on 22 hectares of working agricultural land approximately 6 kilometres from the medieval rock-fortress of Monemvasia in Laconia. The property has been in continuous use since Byzantine times — its name, kinsterna, refers to the large vaulted cistern at the estate's core — and the restoration has preserved original stone barrel-vaulting, arched doorways, and Byzantine mosaic details throughout the complex. Guests stay in rooms and suites built into or adjacent to the historic stone manor, each furnished with regional antiques and materials sourced from the estate or nearby craftspeople.

Room categories range from deluxe rooms with stone-vaulted ceilings and garden outlooks to standalone suites with private plunge pools and views across the working vineyard and sea. All rooms include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and en-suite bathrooms fitted with locally produced botanical amenities.

The estate restaurant is one of the hotel's defining features, drawing nearly all ingredients from the on-site vineyard, olive grove, herb garden, and orchard. The kitchen produces estate olive oil, wine made from organically farmed Laconian grape varieties, and seasonal vegetables harvested daily. Breakfast is a full spread of local cheeses, cured meats, fresh honey, and warm bread baked in the estate's wood-fired oven. Wine cellar tours with the estate sommelier run most evenings and cover Laconian grape varietals alongside the estate's own production.

A spa offers treatments informed by Byzantine herbal traditions, using botanical extracts produced on the estate. The outdoor pool sits within the walled garden surrounded by olive and citrus trees. The concierge team organises guided estate walks, boat transfers to Monemvasia's medieval town, and day excursions to Mystras and the Diros Caves. The property is primarily adult-focused but accommodates families in larger suites.
