Amanzoe

Amanzoe occupies a hilltop above the port of Porto Heli in the Argolida region of the Peloponnese, commanding panoramic views over the Saronic Gulf and the pine-forested hills that roll down to the coast. The resort sits roughly two hours south of Athens by road, and helicopter transfers from Athens International Airport can be arranged on request. Designed by architect Ed Tuttle, Amanzoe draws on Hellenic classical principles: stucco pavilions with colonnaded porticos echo ancient Greek temple forms, and wide stone terraces open toward the sea below. The 38 freestanding Pool Pavilions and Suites each include a private infinity pool set into the terrace; interiors are furnished in pale limestone, warm timber, and handwoven textiles in keeping with the restrained Aman aesthetic. Dining is served across three outlets — a main restaurant with a market-driven Greek and Mediterranean menu, a beach club taverna at the private Amanjiwo Beach 7 kilometres below the hilltop, and informal poolside service for those who prefer to remain on the terrace. The spa operates in dedicated treatment pavilions complemented by a tiered pool complex, yoga sessions, and a fully equipped fitness centre. Water sports including sea kayaking and paddleboarding are available at the beach club. The concierge arranges cultural excursions to Epidaurus (50 km), Mycenae (60 km), and Nafplio (45 km). A dedicated kids club and the freestanding pavilion layout make Amanzoe practical for families as well as couples; the guest-to-staff ratio is high and service throughout is discreet and anticipatory.
