This is the second official approach to Sormiou, starting at the Baumettes bus terminus on the south side of the city. The Parc national des Calanques rates it medium at 2.1 km one way, about 45 minutes, with about 80 m of climb, and presents it as the longer but more interesting variant. The path is very exposed to sun and the climb back is tiring for families and less prepared walkers. The park notes that the car park at the Baumettes trailhead is not supervised, so valuables should stay out of vehicles. As on every massif path, access can be forbidden from 1 June to 30 September when the prefecture map shows red or black.
