A restored stretch of the Grand Canal with a Ming-era bridge, canal houses, a silk museum and night boat rides.
The Qingming Bridge district is a preserved stretch of the Grand Canal in Wuxi where Ming and Qing canal houses, warehouses and stone bridges line both banks. Qingming Bridge itself was first built in 1581 and rebuilt in the 19th century, and it belongs to the Grand Canal listing on the UNESCO World Heritage List (2014).
Walking along the canal path, visitors pass the Wuxi Silk Industry Museum, bakeries, tea houses and waterside restaurants. After dark the bridge and houses are lit, and boats pass under the arches.
