A restored historic district of ancestral halls, tea houses and clay-figurine workshops at the foot of Huishan.
Huishan Ancient Town is a historic quarter at the foot of Huishan, centred on over a hundred ancestral halls built by family clans from the Ming dynasty onward. Walking along Huishan Old Street, visitors pass temple-like halls, stone memorial arches and shops selling Huishan clay figurines, a regional folk craft.
The district also includes the Second Spring Under Heaven, a spring ranked highly for tea-brewing water, and Jichang Garden. Tea houses along the street serve tea brewed with spring water, and local snacks are sold in the entrance lanes.
The street is free to wander; some halls and the garden are ticketed. It is quietest in the morning and busiest at weekends.
| Admission | Adult Street area free; Jichang Garden and paid halls about CNY 70 (~$10) combined · Child Children under 1.2 m free; reduced fares with student ID |
