Jiufeng National Forest Park Ridge Trail

The Jiufeng National Forest Park Ridge Trail loops through Jiufeng National Forest Park in Hongshan District, Wuhan, Hubei Province, one of the largest patches of natural forest within the city limits. Access is by Wuhan Metro Line 2 to a nearby station, followed by a short bus or ride-hail trip to the park entrance, where a modest entrance fee applies. The 5km loop follows well-marked dirt and gravel paths through gently rolling hills that rise to around 200m, with no technical difficulty and a shaded canopy of pine, camphor, and mixed broadleaf trees covering most of the route. The trail passes several viewpoints looking back toward the Wuhan skyline and the Yangtze River basin in the distance, along with a separate zipline and adventure-course area that hikers can visit as a detour for an additional fee. Surface conditions are generally dry and stable, though some sections can turn muddy after heavy rain. Because the loop stays within a maintained park, water and toilets are available at rest points and near the entrance area, and there are picnic pavilions scattered along the route. The gentle grade and clear signage make this an accessible half-day escape from the city rather than a demanding wilderness hike, and there is no meaningful risk of getting lost given the marked junctions throughout the park.
