Xicheng Wanda Plaza (西城万达广场)

Xicheng Wanda Plaza (西城万达广场) is Luohe's newest large shopping mall, opened on 27 December 2024 in Yuanhui District, in China's Henan Province. It stands at the junction of Changjiang Road and Taibaishan Middle Road, on the northwest corner of Changjiang Road and Jiulongshan Road in Yinyangzhao Town, near Luohe West railway station. The complex covers roughly 134,800 square metres, making it a major addition to a city whose older retail is concentrated in the old town. As a Wanda development, it follows the group's standard model of a multi-storey indoor mall combining fashion, family entertainment, dining and services under one roof.

The goods sold are contemporary mainstream retail rather than local crafts: clothing and footwear, cosmetics, accessories, electronics and children's goods, alongside services such as a cinema and play areas typical of Wanda malls. Vendors are branded chain tenants, so authenticity is not the concern it is in street markets, and there are no tourist trinkets. Prices are fixed and displayed; bargaining is not part of the culture inside a mall, though promotions and member discounts are common.

Eating options are a strong point. The mall hosts Pizza Hut, KFC, McDonald's, Starbucks and Luckin Coffee, as well as the usual range of Chinese restaurant chains and casual dining found in Wanda plazas. Visitors who want familiar international fast food or coffee will find it here more easily than in most parts of Luohe.

Payment is dominated by WeChat Pay and Alipay, though most brand stores also accept UnionPay bank cards, and international cards are accepted only at some larger tenants. Tax-refund schemes for foreign travellers apply only where a store is registered for them, so shoppers who want a refund should ask at the till before buying. The atmosphere is modern, air-conditioned and family-oriented, busiest on weekends, holidays and evenings. Its position near Luohe West station makes it a convenient stop for travellers arriving by high-speed rail who want a meal or a few hours of browsing.
