Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch

Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch occupies a historic homestead property on Highway 75 south of Stanley, Idaho, at roughly 6,700 feet elevation in the Sawtooth Valley, within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Founded in the late 1920s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the ranch consists of a main lodge and a collection of individual log cabins constructed from local timber harvested on the property — Historic Cabins, standard Lodge Rooms, and Deluxe Cabins positioned for privacy and mountain views. The surrounding landscape is dramatic by any measure: the Sawtooth Range rises sharply to the west with jagged granite peaks topping 10,000 feet, the White Cloud Peaks define the eastern horizon, and the Salmon River flows through the valley floor roughly half a mile below the ranch. A natural geothermal hot spring on the property feeds an outdoor pool that maintains a temperature of approximately 104°F year-round — one of the most distinctive lodging amenities in Idaho, and one that is particularly atmospheric on cold alpine mornings when steam rises against the Sawtooth skyline. All room rates at Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch are fully inclusive of meals: breakfast, a packed lunch available for day trips, and dinner are prepared from scratch by the kitchen team and served family-style in the main lodge dining room, reflecting the working ranch heritage of the property. Horseback riding departs from the ranch's own stable. Fly fishing access on the nearby Salmon River produces rainbow and cutthroat trout.
