Sun Valley Inn

Sun Valley Inn occupies the geographic center of the Sun Valley Resort campus at 1 Sun Valley Road in the purpose-built resort village of Sun Valley, Idaho. The resort complex dates to 1936, when Union Pacific Railroad chairman W. Averell Harriman commissioned Austrian ski expert Count Felix Schaffgotsch to locate the ideal American ski destination; the result was Sun Valley, the first destination ski resort in the United States. The Inn — distinct from the adjacent original Sun Valley Lodge — is the resort's larger and more contemporary accommodation building, offering a broader range of room categories within the same full amenity ecosystem. Rooms range from Standard configurations to Deluxe Rooms, Superior Suites, Loft Suites, and Executive Suites; many face Dollar Mountain or the resort village square. Guests of the Inn share access to the entire Sun Valley Resort amenity portfolio: ski-in/ski-out access to Bald Mountain (Baldy) and Dollar Mountain, multiple heated outdoor pools and a hot tub complex, a full-service spa, the celebrated Sun Valley ice rink where Norwegian Olympic champion Sonja Henie famously skated, and multiple dining venues including the Ram Restaurant and the Lodge Dining Room.
