The Owyhee

The Owyhee stands on Main Street in the heart of downtown Boise, occupying one of the city's most recognized historic addresses. The Idaho State Capitol building is three blocks north. The Owyhee Plaza Hotel opened in 1910 as Boise's premier grand hotel, a ten-story Neo-Classical structure that defined the city's skyline during an era when Boise was emerging as a regional commercial center. After decades of decline, a comprehensive historic renovation completed in the mid-2010s restored the lobby's original marble floors, ornamental plasterwork, and decorative brass fixtures while fully modernizing the mechanical systems, guest rooms, and electrical infrastructure. The property re-opened as The Owyhee and joined Marriott's Autograph Collection of independent boutique hotels. The design approach preserved the historic character of the building — dark walnut millwork, muted jewel-tone upholstery, and curated displays of Boise historical photography — while meeting contemporary hospitality standards.

Deluxe King rooms occupy the upper floors, benefiting from the building's original high ceilings and offering city or Boise Foothills views.
