Fethiye Paspatur Food Walk

The Fethiye Paspatur Food Walk is a guided street food tour through Fethiye's historic Paspatur Arasta Çarşısı bazaar, located in the heart of Fethiye Old Town in Muğla province. Run by operators including Fethiye Food Tours and Fat Tyre Food Tours, both with several years of experience leading culinary walks in the Fethiye area, the tour threads through cobblestone lanes and covered market halls that form the backbone of local daily life.

The route covers 8–10 food stops across roughly three hours, progressing from open bazaar stalls to tucked-away neighbourhood bakeries and dessert shops. Savoury items dominate the first half of the walk: freshly rolled gözleme (stuffed flatbread cooked on a sac griddle), steaming pide from a traditional stone oven, flaky börek filled with feta and spinach, and sesame-encrusted simit pulled hot from the cart. The balance shifts toward sweet in the final stops: an ice-cream parlour serving Maraş-style dondurma and a baklava maker demonstrating the layering of paper-thin phyllo and pistachio.

All food and non-alcoholic drinks at tasting stops are included in the price (₺800–₺1,200 per person). Groups are kept small, with a maximum of 12 participants, ensuring the guide can explain preparation techniques and ingredient origins at each stop without crowding the stalls. The guide narrates in English throughout, covering the Ottoman and Aegean influences that shape Fethiye's food culture, the role of the Tuesday market (the largest in the region), and the history of the Paspatur bazaar itself.
