The private hamam section of the Diyadin Kaplıca Tesisleri complex offers enclosed, one-party cabin baths fed by the same geothermal spring system that supplies the main pool. Located in Diyadin district of Ağrı province at roughly 1,700 metres elevation, this section of the facility provides a more intimate alternative to communal pool bathing, accommodating couples, families, or single bathers who prefer full privacy during their thermal session.

Each private cabin contains a tiled soaking bath filled directly from the geothermal source, flowing at temperatures between 40 °C and 50 °C. The water is drained and the cabin cleaned between each booking, ensuring hygiene standards compliant with Turkish health ministry regulations for licensed balneotherapy facilities. Cabin sizes vary; most accommodate two to three persons comfortably, with a few larger units available for family groups of up to four.

The mineral composition of the water — high in sulphur compounds and calcium bicarbonate — is the same as the main pool, making the private bath therapeutically comparable while offering silence and seclusion. A traditional scrub service using a kese (coarse exfoliating mitt) is available on request through reception, carried out by an attendant who enters the cabin for the scrub portion only. Mud application, available seasonally, can also be arranged as an add-on.

Pricing runs TRY 300–600 per person depending on cabin size and session length, with the standard session set at 60 to 90 minutes. Sessions are booked at the main reception desk on a first-come, first-served basis; no advance telephone booking is accepted. Busy periods are weekend mornings and public holidays. Arriving before 09:00 typically secures immediate entry. Towels, soap, and cabin slippers are provided, and a small locker is located within each cabin for valuables.

Frequently asked questions

Can a couple or family share one private cabin?

Yes. Cabins are priced per person and can accommodate two to four persons depending on the unit selected. Family-size cabins should be requested at reception when booking to ensure the right size is allocated.

Is the kese scrub performed by a professional therapist?

The scrub attendants are trained in the traditional Turkish hamam kese technique but are generalist staff rather than certified spa therapists. The service is a traditional exfoliating scrub, not a clinical treatment.

What if the water temperature is too hot?

The attendant can adjust the inflow valve to lower the temperature before leaving the cabin. Guests may request further adjustment during the session by pressing the call button located near the bath.

Is the private hamam suitable for children?

Children may use the cabins accompanied by a parent. The facility recommends keeping sessions for young children under 30 minutes given the high mineral content and heat. Infants are not recommended for thermal bathing.

Are towels and soap provided?

Yes. Towel, soap, and cabin slippers are included in the session price at no extra charge.
