Yeşilırmak Restaurant shares its name with the river that defines Amasya's geography and cultural identity — the Green River whose serpentine course through the limestone gorge creates the city's most celebrated views. The restaurant occupies a position on the south (Atatürk Caddesi) bank, with a large multi-level terrace extending toward the water and offering panoramic sightlines toward the Ottoman house row opposite and the rock-face above. The kitchen is well-suited to groups: large mixed grill platters (karışık ızgara) assembled for sharing — featuring lamb şiş, adana köfte, chicken wings, and sucuk — are the most-ordered items. Cold meze trays circulate before the grill: şakşuka (fried courgette and aubergine in tomato), tarator, and seasonal vegetable preparations. Şakşuka at Yeşilırmak is a highlight — properly oil-dressed, served at room temperature as tradition requires, and made fresh rather than pre-prepared. Grilled chicken (tavuk ızgara) caters to lighter appetites. The outdoor terraces are heated with gas heaters that extend the dining season into late October. Inside dining is available year-round in a functional, larger-table-focused room. Prices at ₺280–600 per head are in line with the riverside average.
