Strabon Restaurant takes its name from the ancient geographer Strabo, born in Amasya around 64 BC and widely considered the city's most celebrated historical figure. The restaurant sits on the Atatürk Caddesi riverbank with a large outdoor terrace extending over the Yeşilırmak, giving diners one of the most commanding views in Amasya — opposite the Yalıboyu Ottoman houses and within direct sightline of the Pontic rock tombs carved into the cliffs above. The kitchen leans on the grill, producing mixed plates of lamb şiş, adana köfte, and chicken skewers over charcoal. Regional dishes supplement the grill: keşkek appears on the menu when the kitchen has prepared enough, and çiçek bamyası is offered through summer.
