Serengeti Wildebeest Camps operates as a mobile tented camp that repositions several times per year to follow the Great Wildebeest Migration across the Serengeti ecosystem. Unlike fixed lodges, the camp relocates to stay within close proximity of the wildebeest herds as they move northward toward the Mara River crossings between July and October, then south through the Ndutu plains during the calving season from December to February. This positioning strategy means guests are placed near migration spectacles without long drives from a fixed base.

Accommodation consists of en-suite canvas tents with wooden floors, proper beds with linens, solar-powered lighting, and attached bathroom units with flush toilets and hot-water bucket showers. A central dining tent serves three cooked meals daily, and bush dinners under the stars can be arranged when conditions allow. The camp generates electricity via solar panels, minimizing generator noise. Staff manage a fire each evening, creating an informal social atmosphere around which guides share natural history knowledge. Game drives are included in the daily rate and depart twice daily in open 4×4 vehicles; walking and fly-camping excursions can be requested at extra cost. The mobile format keeps guest numbers low — typically eight to twelve tents — resulting in an intimate atmosphere and high naturalist-to-guest ratios. The budget positioning reflects the operational simplicity of canvas over stone, not a compromise in wildlife access, which is often superior to that of fixed lodges during migration season.
