One of Getxo's main beaches, with a long sandy shore and cliff-top paths, close to the Algorta old port.
Playa de Arrigunaga is a long sandy beach in Getxo, reached from Algorta Metro station. It has a seafront walkway with cafes nearby, so it works for a half-day beach visit from Bilbao. The neighbouring fishing quarter of Algorta Puerto Viejo has small bars and restaurants serving pintxos and seafood. A cliff walk on the Paseo de Punta Galea links the beach with the open Atlantic coast farther north. Water temperature is cool, and the beach can be windy; follow lifeguard flags in summer.
