Platja de Talamanca is the closest proper beach to Ibiza Town on the north side, in a wide, enclosed bay facing the harbour entrance. The sand is fine and the water is shallow and calm, which suits families and weaker swimmers. Behind the sand a promenade connects small restaurants and a few beach clubs, and the view looks across the bay to the walls of Dalt Vila. It is a local beach as much as a visitor beach and stays quieter than Playa d'en Bossa. The water is less clear than at the west coast coves because boats anchor in the bay.
