Book Seville accommodation 3-6 months ahead for Semana Santa (March-April) and Feria de Abril (late April) — this is the hardest accommodation period in Spain.
Stay inside or just outside Seville's historic centre (Barrio de Santa Cruz, Triana, Centro) — all sights are walkable and atmosphere is exceptional.
Granada's best location is Albaicín or just below it near Plaza Nueva — within walking distance of the Alhambra path and the historic centre.
Málaga's Soho district and historic centre have the best mix of location and value — close to the port, beaches, and museums.
Córdoba is best visited as a day trip from Seville or on a brief 1-2 night stay — the historic centre is tiny and accommodation is limited.
In summer (June-August), air conditioning is essential in Seville and Córdoba where temperatures regularly exceed 40°C — always check rooms have A/C.
