Bom Bom Island Resort

Bom Bom Island Resort occupies a small islet off the northern tip of Príncipe Island, connected to the main island by a short causeway passable on foot or by resort vehicle. The islet sits between two sheltered sandy beaches — one on each side — creating naturally calm swimming conditions and consistent snorkelling access year-round. The resort is approximately 7 km by road from Santo António, Príncipe's principal town, and around 20 minutes from Príncipe Airport, where transfers are arranged by the hotel. Bom Bom has operated for several decades as one of the most recognizable luxury addresses in the Gulf of Guinea, drawing divers, sport fishermen, and travellers who want genuine Atlantic isolation combined with consistent service standards. The 18 accommodation units are individual thatched-roof bungalows set on stilts or elevated platforms within the islet's native vegetation, each with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and a private terrace or veranda overlooking the water or gardens. Some bungalows are positioned directly over the lagoon. Excursions from the resort include deep-sea fishing, seasonal whale and dolphin watching, jungle treks into Príncipe's Biosphere Reserve interior, and guided visits to the island's historic plantation roças.
