23 Vintage Bar is a retro-themed cocktail bar on Rua de Santa Maria in Funchal's Zona Velha, decorated with memorabilia and design cues from the 1970s, 80s and 90s. The crowd skews younger than many of the surrounding Zona Velha taverns — largely visitors and locals in their 20s and 30s out for a bar-hopping evening — with a casual dress code and no strict age enforcement beyond Portugal's 18-plus drinking age. Music is the bar's defining feature: a curated soundtrack of retro pop, rock and disco from the 70s through 90s plays throughout the night, occasionally supplemented by a DJ on weekends, making it one of the more dance-friendly stops on the Old Town circuit.
