Caju Le Petit Hotel

Caju Le Petit Hotel is a four-star hotel in the São Pedro district of Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira. The address, Rua da Carreira 112, places it on one of central Funchal's long main streets, close to the Old Town, the cathedral area, the municipal gardens and the waterfront, so most sights and restaurants can be reached on foot. The district is urban and lively, with shops, cafes and local bakeries nearby. The hotel is a compact, boutique-scale property, and its name reflects a small, intimate format with a friendly, contemporary character rather than a grand historic one. Listed room types include single rooms, double or twin rooms, petit double or twin rooms with balcony, and larger double options, giving flexibility for solo travellers, couples and friends. Standout amenities include a restaurant, a bar and lounge, a gym, air conditioning, free wifi, room service, in-room safes and laundry service. There is no pool listed, so the appeal is location, comfort and value rather than resort leisure. Dining is available on site through the restaurant and bar and lounge, which handle breakfast and evening meals, and the surrounding streets offer many alternatives including traditional Madeiran dishes such as espetada and fried maize. The gym covers basic fitness needs. Service is personal and aimed at leisure and business travellers who want a convenient base, and the small size allows staff to give individual attention. With a rating of 4.8 and a moderate price bracket, the property is well regarded for value. Visitors wanting a pool, a spa or a beach setting would be better served by a Hotel Zone resort, while those who want to be near the shops, restaurants and sights of the centre will find the location practical. Rua da Carreira is a busy street, so light sleepers may prefer a rear room.
