Zoomarine Algarve

Zoomarine is a marine-life theme park near Guia, close to Albufeira in the central Algarve, combining animal shows, water rides and swimming pools with a stated focus on marine conservation and rescue work. The park's main draws are its scheduled shows featuring dolphins, sea lions and tropical birds, staged in dedicated arenas throughout the day, alongside exhibits on marine ecosystems and a rescue centre for injured sea turtles and other animals. Beyond the animal shows, the park includes water slides, wave pools and a dedicated children's water play area, giving it the dual character of a marine park and a water park in one site. A full visit takes four to six hours to see the main shows and make use of the pools and slides, and visitors typically plan their day around the published show schedule, checked on arrival, to avoid missing the dolphin and sea lion presentations. The park is busiest around midday and early afternoon during the main show times, so arriving at opening and prioritising the more popular shows and rides first, or visiting on a weekday, reduces queuing. A separate paid dolphin interaction experience allows limited numbers of visitors closer contact with the animals and must be booked in advance, as spaces are limited each day. Zoomarine operates seasonally, typically from May to October, with reduced days in the shoulder months.
