- CP trains serve Lagos, Silves, Tavira and Faro excellently. EVA buses cover Monchique, Sagres and Aljezur (less frequent).

- Car rental from €30–€55/day from Faro Airport — by far the most flexible option for the interior and western coast

Start early — most Algarve day trips are more enjoyable at 9AM before crowds and heat build up
Book a rental car in advance for July–August — vehicles sell out quickly at Faro Airport
The CP Algarve train line is excellent and cheap for Lagos, Silves and Tavira day trips — no driving required
Sagres is about 3.5 hours of driving from the eastern Algarve — best done from a western base like Lagos
For Seville, take the bus or the train from Faro for a more relaxed experience than driving in a Spanish city
